ABOUT ME

I am an events professional with a performer’s instincts and a strategist’s discipline. My path runs from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business into finance and leadership, through cultural performance and production, and into corporate events where I manage complex logistics and people with care. That mix of art and operations is my sweet spot, and it shows up in everything from conventions and conferences to community programs.

Early Life & Education

I was born and raised in Oakland, California, and graduated with honors from Bishop O’Dowd High School. Throughout my childhood, I studied jazz, tap, ballet, gymnastics, singing, theatrical production, violin, and piano, and performed in countless recitals and productions.

At the University of California, Berkeley, I was accepted into the Haas School of Business, where I earned my B.S. in Business Administration with honors, specializing in Accounting and Finance. While attending Berkeley, I worked full-time at The Daily Californian newspaper, starting as a Classified Ad Clerk and earning three promotions before ultimately serving as Classified Ad Manager until graduation.

Accounting, Finance & Consulting Career

After Berkeley, I began my career at Price Waterhouse and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where I planned, supervised, and performed audits and advisory work for Fortune 500 and multinational companies.  I later served as Director of Planning & Ultimates at Universal Pictures, where I managed film profitability forecasts, pre-release reporting, and post-acquisition financial integrations.

My career culminated in my role as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Windswept Holdings LLC, one of the largest independent music publishing companies in the world. During my tenure, the company completed an eight-figure acquisition of the Trio/Quartet catalog from Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. I also oversaw the finances of HITCO Music Publishing, a joint venture with Antonio “L.A.” Reid, while reporting to Japanese parent companies Fuji Television Network, Itochu Corporation, and Fujipacific Music.

In 2005, I relocated to Las Vegas. From 2006 to 2009, I worked as a consultant for Resources Global Professionals, serving Diamond Resorts (formerly Sunterra) as a client.

Expanding the Arts & Cultural Events in Las Vegas

I have always remained active in the arts, even during my corporate career. In 2008, I began a deep dive into new art forms, including African, Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, and Middle Eastern percussion.

I also sang with groups including the Spirit of Joy Choir, the Gospel Music Workshop of America, and the Facebook Chorale, and continued to perform violin with chamber ensembles and community orchestras.

I later co-founded Triba!, a cultural performance group combining music, dance, and acrobatics, and joined the management team of Vozolo Dance Company, where I managed bookings, events contracts, marketing and promotions while performing as a percussionist.

As a Cultural Ambassador for Africa Love Store and Da’African Village, I co-produced cultural events such as A Touch of Africa Las Vegas, One Night in Brazil, the 2018 Kwanzaa Celebration with Power 88.1, Pan African Soul Sessions, and numerous drum circles and workshops.

Corporate Events & Project Management

My corporate events career began in 2011, when I was hired as a drummer to perform in the Harley-Davidson themed opening keynote at the International Teamsters Convention on the Las Vegas Strip, produced by Emmy Award winning Ricky Kirshner Events. That large-scale spectacle introduced me to the world of corporate conventions.

From 2012 onward, I worked across nearly every position imaginable in conferences and trade shows. I later joined the Convention Division at Eastridge Workforce Solutions, managing staffing and payroll for events hosting up to 500,000 attendees, including Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) and Dreamforce.

After COVID, I transitioned in-house as a Strategic Delivery Manager (Project Manager) at Eastridge, where I produced internal corporate events including the Corporate Headquarters Grand Opening Ceremony and the Company All-Hands Conference. I also led external-facing events, such as job fairs for Ukrainian refugees, Juneteenth recruiting and marketing activations, and a rapid-response job fair for Cue Health.

Alongside events, I spearheaded enterprise-wide initiatives including the launch of a new Learning Management System, overseeing 100+ training modules and 50 content creators, designing learning paths, and piloting learner test programs.

I also served as a leader of B.L.A.C.K.@Eastridge, the company’s Black employee resource group, and as a leader of the Juneteenth Event Planning Committee.

Community Advocacy

In 2020, I co-founded Juneteenth365 LLC, a 100% Black-woman owned company dedicated to celebrating Black liberation and economic empowerment through community events and cultural programming. I retired from the venture in 2022.

Entrepreneurship & Events Today

Building businesses and experiences with events at the center

In 2025, I founded NDF Unbound, offering project management, consulting, marketing, and event solutions to a diverse range of clients and industries.

I also co-created Sistas Who Shine, a Las Vegas-based company producing luxury wellness and creative events, and co-founded The Sassy Taurus, a bold self-care brand with handcrafted candles, body butters, cosmetics, and more. Both companies celebrate and uplift Black women, with space for others who also connect with that frequency.

How It All Ties Together

My journey has never been about standing still. Each chapter sharpened a new skill, each challenge raised the bar, and together they shape the way I create, lead, and deliver today.

Across my journey in performing, events, accounting and finance, consulting, creative work, and entrepreneurship, one thing has stayed the same: I design and deliver experiences that connect people, celebrate community, and bring visions to life.

In 2025, I also began vlogging as a creative extension of my work and life. It's a time to share reflections and storytelling on my own terms. These vlogs live on my personal social platforms, and all opinions expressed are my own.
